This is an example of an essay turned speech, which was a A+,A+,A+ for all assessed criteria. This was submitted in 2016.
The focus of Modern History within high school is on analysing sources, both primary and secondary, to inform an argument or hypothesis. Often times, people think "analyse sources" means "John Smith is a primary source from 1955, because he lived during the period at focus he is credible". UNFORTUNATELY, this IS NOT what schools - particularly in senior - mean when they talk about analysing sources. It needs to be more than you asserting whether or not they are credible. Teachers need to see in your writing YOU discussing why that source is saying what they're saying (i.e., is there a reason? what job do they do and how may that influence their perspective?)
IN THIS A+ A+ A+ essay, YOU WILL FIND a methodology of reviewing primary and secondary sources in a way that is sophisticated for year 12 level; however, I'd argue it's probably on par at best.
HOPE IT HELPS!
